Spaghetti Western was at the time kind of an insult but today with more people discovering them I feel as though the phrase has changed towards the positive. Kind of like the phrase B-movie, it used to be an insult but now directors are trying to make their work seem more like a B-movie. Also as much as I love Sergio Leone he did rip his ideas of Akira Kurosawa. Perhaps you should see Yojimbo.

Clint Eastwood was not unknown, he had been in several american westerns, he was already a household name when he starred in the series Rawhide. By the way, Leone wanted Richard Harrison for the role of the man with no name..

    There’s no mistake.
Even if italian title is “Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo” in english it’s actually named “The good, the bad & the ugly”.

    And, anyway, Eli Wallach delivers.
